Creates the criminal offense of making a terroristic threat when a person threatens to commit a crime of violence, commit an act dangerous to human life, or burn/damage property with specific intent to intimidate civilians, influence government policy, affect government/business conduct, disrupt public services, or place the public in fear of serious bodily injury

Makes making a terroristic threat a felony punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections

Provides as a defense that the defendant did not intend to actually commit the threatened offense or did not communicate a specific time or manner of execution

Prohibits conviction on uncorroborated testimony of the person to whom the threat was communicated

Effective July 1, 2018
