Amends Section 81-1-69 of the Mississippi Code to change the Commissioner of Banking and Consumer Finance's salary from being fixed by the Legislature to an amount equal to the average total compensation (salary and bonuses) of banking regulators in Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Removes the requirement that the Deputy Commissioner of Banking and Consumer Finance's salary be fixed by the Legislature.

Establishes the initial compensation average using 2017 calendar year data as certified by the commissioner, with subsequent years using the previous calendar year's average.

Salary to be paid monthly from department funds.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
