Amends Section 47-7-5 of the Mississippi Code to extend the repeal date of the State Parole Board from July 1, 2018 to July 1, 2020.

The State Parole Board consists of five members appointed by the Governor with Senate approval, serving at the Governor's pleasure, with a Governor-appointed chairman.

Board members must possess at least a bachelor's degree or high school diploma with four years of work experience, work full-time, and complete annual training based on guidance from the National Institute of Corrections, Association of Paroling Authorities International, or American Probation and Parole Association.

The board has exclusive responsibility for granting and revoking parole and investigating clemency recommendations, but has no authority over supervision of released offenders, which is handled by the Division of Community Corrections.

Board members and staff have immunity from civil liability for official acts taken in good faith and within their governmental authority.
