Amends Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Program to include psychiatry residency as a program phase alongside medical and osteopathic residencies.

Adds a licensed psychiatrist appointed by the Mississippi Chapter of the American College of Psychiatrists to the Mississippi Rural Physicians Scholarship Commission board.

Expands program recruitment and enrollment to identify students pursuing careers as psychiatrists in rural or medically underserved areas of Mississippi.

Includes the American College of Psychiatrists in the list of professional organizations consulted by the commission for program development and marketing.

Takes effect July 1, 2018.
