Requires the Mississippi Department of Corrections to provide cash overtime pay instead of compensatory time to all corrections officers, law enforcement staff, and other employees working in correctional facilities for all overtime hours under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Amends Section 25-1-98 to allow exceptions to compensatory leave requirements for legal holiday work "as otherwise provided by law," enabling the overtime pay provision to apply.

Amends Section 25-3-92 to allow exceptions to compensatory leave credit for overtime work "as otherwise provided by law," creating statutory authority for cash overtime payments.

Amends Section 25-9-119 to clarify that State Personnel System rules and regulations are subject to exceptions "as otherwise provided by law," allowing the cash overtime policy to override standard compensatory leave procedures.

Effective date: July 1, 2018.
