Amends Mississippi Code sections 41-61-61, 41-61-63, 41-61-65, 41-61-75, 41-61-77, and 41-61-79 to correct references to county medical examiner and county medical examiner investigator positions throughout the medical examiner statutes.

Clarifies that county medical examiner investigators may obtain postmortem specimens following successful completion of death investigation training school and other requirements determined by the State Medical Examiner.

Updates fee schedule allowing county medical examiners or county medical examiner investigators to receive $125 per completed death investigation report plus actual expenses, with additional fees for SIDS death scene investigation reports ($50 base or $100 with advanced child death investigation training).

Authorizes county medical examiner investigators to perform death investigations and obtain postmortem blood, urine, vitreous fluids, and other specimens under consultation with law enforcement and the State Medical Examiner.

Takes effect July 1, 2018, with the fee provision in Section 41-61-75 set to expire July 1, 2020.
