Reconstitutes the State Board of Medical Licensure from nine physicians to a mixed membership with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and consumer representatives on a phased-in basis beginning July 1, 2018.

Replaces three board members expiring July 1, 2018, with one physician, one certified nurse practitioner (3,500+ hours clinical practice appointed by Mississippi Board of Nursing), and one AARP-appointed consumer representative.

Replaces three board members expiring July 1, 2019, with one physician, one nurse (3,500+ hours clinical practice appointed by Mississippi Board of Nursing), and one AARP-appointed consumer representative.

Replaces three board members expiring July 1, 2021, with one physician, one licensed physical therapist (3,500+ hours clinical practice appointed by Mississippi Board of Physical Therapy), and one AARP-appointed consumer representative.

Limits all board members appointed after July 1, 2018, to two full terms within any eighteen-year period and requires appointments to maintain no more than four members from the same Mississippi Supreme Court District while considering geographic distribution, race, and sex.
