University of Mississippi Medical Center authorized to rearrange, disinter, remove or reinter human remains in the potter's field on its property to a different location on the medical center's property when necessary for maintenance and management.

Markers, headstones, or other identification shall accompany remains when identification exists, and records of removal and reinterment must be maintained with the Hinds County Chancery Clerk.

Medical Center must publish notice of intent to rearrange, disinter, remove or reinter remains in a county newspaper once weekly for three consecutive weeks before taking action.

University of Mississippi Medical Center and its officers and employees are granted immunity from lawsuits arising from maintenance of the potter's field and rearrangement or removal of remains when performed in good faith.

Repeals Section 2, Chapter 846, Local and Private Laws of 1973, as amended by Chapter 854, Laws of 1974, which previously authorized similar actions regarding human remains in the potter's field.
