Commends the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (Team Wildlife) for winning the 16th Annual LawFit Challenge held June 8-10, 2017, in Pearl, Mississippi, marking the 11th consecutive year Mississippi law enforcement took the national title.

Four-man team of Captain Chris Reed, Private Derrick Scott, Lieutenant Marcus Christon, and Corporal Justin Gates scored 1,618 points, breaking the previous record of 1,599 set in 2015.

Private Derrick Scott set an individual competition record with 424 points, the highest score in the competition's 16-year history; Christon and Gates also exceeded 400 points with 422 and 407 respectively.

Corporal Justin Gates set a bench-press record by lifting 226% of his body weight; Christon and Scott combined for 846 points, a new Male Pairs record.

Mississippi Highway Patrol finished in second place, continuing a healthy rivalry with MDWFP that has alternated between first and second place since 2014.
