Staff Sergeant Dallas Ramsey Pauls, a native of Vancleave and 2002 graduate of Vancleave High School, served in the United States Air Force for ten years with the 609th Air Communications Squadron and completed two deployments to Afghanistan.

Pauls died in a motorcycle accident on January 7, 2016, near Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.

Pauls was posthumously awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) for meritorious service from May 11, 2015, to January 6, 2016, including critical work sustaining satellite communications for 17 U.S. Embassies and supporting over 10,000 warfighters.

The resolution honors Pauls' distinguished military service and extends sympathy to his surviving family, which includes his mother, father, fiancée, sisters, and numerous extended family members.

The resolution directs that this recognition be presented to Pauls' family, forwarded to the Department of the Air Force, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
