Commemorates Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, on the occasion of its "2018 AKA Day at the Mississippi State Capitol" on February 13, 2018, marking the 23rd consecutive year of the event.

Recognizes nearly 200 AKA members gathering in Jackson to promote advocacy, voter mobilization, civil rights, and social justice initiatives while receiving legislative updates.

Acknowledges seven Alpha Kappa Alpha women serving in the Mississippi Legislature: Representatives Sonya Williams-Barnes, Alyce G. Clarke, Angela Cockerham, Deborah Gibbs, Lataisha Jackson, Sara R. Thomas, and Senator Tammy Witherspoon.

Highlights AKA's history as the first Greek Letter Sorority for college-educated African-American women, founded in 1908 at Howard University, with over 300,000 members in more than 1,000 chapters internationally.

Commends the organization for contributing over two million hours of annual volunteer community service and implementing programs focused on educational enrichment, health promotion, family strengthening, environmental ownership, and global impact.
