Documents key constitutional and structural changes to the Supreme Court over 200 years, including growth from three to nine justices, reintroduction of popular election of judges in 1914, and creation of the Court of Appeals in 1994.

Acknowledges over 120 men and women who have served on the Mississippi Supreme Court, with 31 currently having portraits displayed in the Carroll Gartin Justice Building in Jackson.

Recognizes the 1980s additions of the court's first female justice and first African-American justice as significant milestones in the court's history.

Directs transmission of this resolution to the Clerk of the Mississippi Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the Executive Director of The Mississippi Bar, and the Capitol Press Corps.
