Extends legislative recognition and thanks to Mississippi Representative Tyrone Ellis upon his retirement after 38 years of service in the House of Representatives representing District 38 (Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties).

Honors Ellis as one of the first African-Americans elected to the Mississippi Legislature after Reconstruction and one of the longest-serving African-Americans in the Legislature.

Recognizes Ellis's educational background including study at Illinois Institute of Technology, East Mississippi Community College, Ministerial Institute and College, and New Orleans Theological Seminary.

Acknowledges Ellis's service as Majority Leader of the Mississippi House, his committee work including the Ways and Means Committee, and his community involvement with Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club, and Oktibbeha County School Board.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Representative Tyrone Ellis and his family and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
