Designates March 20, 2018, as "Undergraduate Research Day in Mississippi" to emphasize the value of scholarly inquiry and research in educating future leaders.

Recognizes the "Posters in the Rotunda" project and acknowledges thousands of undergraduates at Mississippi universities, colleges, and community colleges pursuing independent scholarship with faculty mentors.

Encourages institutions of higher education, federal and state agencies, businesses, and philanthropic foundations to support undergraduate independent scholarship and to include underrepresented groups in research opportunities.

Affirms that undergraduate research develops critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills while supporting the state's workforce needs in biomedical and STEM disciplines.

Directs presentation of the resolution to students and faculty participating in the "Posters in the Rotunda" exhibition and to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
