Commends and congratulates the Saltillo High School "Tigers" Girls Cross Country Team and Coach Charles Covington for winning the 2017 Class 5A State Championship on November 4, 2017.

Team defeated second-place Brookhaven by eight minutes with Tiger runners finishing in seven of the top nine spots in 5A competition.

Recognizes 13 team members who earned All-Region and/or All-State honors, including Freshman Emma Kate White who placed 2nd in the state and won the Individual Region Championship with a time of 20:35.9.

Directs the resolution be presented to Coach Covington, forwarded to Saltillo Principal Tim DeVaughn and the Lee County Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
