Honors Dr. Hickman M. Johnson on his 50th anniversary as pastor of Historic Farish Street Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, having served since August 1968

Dr. Johnson holds degrees from Tennessee State University, Morehouse School of Religion, Mississippi College, and a Doctor of Ministry from Emory University

Served in multiple leadership roles including President of Mississippi Baptist Seminary (1989-2004) and Executive Director of Jackson Housing Authority (1994-2000), where he received the Secretary's Citation and Best Practice Award

Extensive community involvement includes serving as Chairman of Mississippi Religious Leadership Conference, Commissioner of Jackson Housing Authority (1969-1991), and leadership positions with Boy Scouts of America

Received numerous honors including honorary doctorates from Natchez College and Mississippi Baptist Seminary, the 2012 Fannie Lou Hamer Humanitarian Award from Jackson State University, and authored "Farewell, My Friends: A Book of Eulogies and Tributes"
