Amends Section 9-23-11 of Mississippi Code to revise the drug court certification and recertification schedule for adult felony and youth/misdemeanor/family/chancery drug courts.

Certified adult felony drug courts in existence on December 31, 2018, must submit recertification petitions by July 31, 2019, and be recertified by December 31, 2019, then every two years with recertification completed by December 31 of odd calendar years.

Certified youth, misdemeanor, family, or chancery drug courts in existence on December 31, 2018, must submit recertification petitions by July 31, 2020, and be recertified by December 31, 2020, then every two years with recertification completed by December 31 of even calendar years.

Maintains existing requirements for drug court certification standards including evidence-based practices, risk and needs assessments, frequent testing, judicial interaction, and data collection on participant outcomes and recidivism.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
