Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors may implement a two-year registration cycle for licensed engineers effective July 1, 2019, commencing in January of any year the board chooses.

Two-year renewal cycle must be adopted by board resolution and will expire on December 31 two years after commencement.

Renewal fees under the two-year cycle remain capped at $50 for engineers alone or $75 for those licensed as both engineers and surveyors, with renewal during December.

Late renewal penalties of 10% per month apply (capped at five times the normal fee), and licenses expired six months or longer require new applications with back fees and continuing professional competency proof.

Reexamination may be required if certificate expires four years or more under the two-year cycle (compared to five years under the existing one-year cycle), unless the licensee maintained practice in another jurisdiction.
