MS HB1115

Amends Mississippi Code sections 17-3-1 and 17-3-3 to restrict county and municipal advertising to publications and sponsorships of trade or business meetings held in the county.

Maintains existing authority for counties and municipalities to appropriate up to one mill of their valuation for advertising purposes.

Eliminates previous allowances for publicity, expositions, public entertainment, and other general forms of advertising.

Prohibits advertising in publications sponsored by political parties, political committees, or affiliated organizations as defined in Section 23-15-801.

Becomes effective July 1, 2019.
