MS HB1345

Creates the Mississippi Civil Rights Act establishing freedom from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, immigrant status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or familial status as a civil right.

Protects employment rights, public accommodations, housing, credit transactions, and educational institution access from discrimination by employers with 9 or more employees.

Provides civil remedies including injunctive relief, compensatory damages, punitive damages, back pay, and attorney's fees for intentional discrimination violations.

Protects employee religious and moral speech in the workplace if consistent with time, place, manner, and frequency of other allowed expression and not in direct conflict with employer's essential business interests.

Amends state employment, housing, and jury service statutes to add sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability protections while removing references to "handicap."
