Amends Section 97-37-30 of Mississippi Code to add a new prohibition on discharging firearms near petroleum products.

Creates a felony offense for willfully discharging a firearm near any business or property containing flammable or explosive petroleum products.

Felony offense carries a fine of up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 5 years in the Department of Corrections.

Maintains existing misdemeanor offense for discharging a firearm toward another person's dwelling, punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or 12 months in county jail.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
