MS HB1507

Requires occupational licensing boards to issue or deny licenses to military spouses within four months of application if military orders require the spouse to be stationed in Mississippi for 36 months or less.

Allows military spouses with current licenses from other jurisdictions to obtain Mississippi licenses if the other jurisdiction's requirements are substantially equivalent, without repeating full licensure procedures.

Encourages occupational licensing boards to reduce or waive fees normally required for military spouses applying for licenses, certifications, or registrations.

Requires occupational licensing boards to adopt rules implementing these provisions no later than December 31, 2019.

Effective July 1, 2019; does not apply to the practice of law.
