Authorizes the Mississippi Board of Nursing to establish an alternative to discipline program for nursing licensees with impairments resulting from substance abuse or mental health conditions.

Participation in the program is voluntary and must occur before any disciplinary hearing is held against the licensee.

Licensees must bear the full cost of participation, including all care, counseling, treatment, and education services.

All procedures and records related to program participation are confidential and exempt from the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983.

A licensee may participate in the program only once per five-year period, or such longer period as established by the board.
