Exempts retail sales of school supplies priced under $50 from sales tax during a period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ending at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday.

Defines "school supplies" as 41 specific items commonly used by students in coursework, including backpacks, binders, calculators, pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, markers, crayons, folders, glue, scissors, rulers, and textbooks.

Allows municipalities to suspend this exemption within their corporate limits by adopting a resolution and providing notice to the Department of Revenue at least 90 days prior to the suspension date (effective January 1, 2020).

Takes effect July 1, 2019, and does not affect any tax claims, assessments, or collections for taxes accrued before the effective date.
