Amends Section 25-31-10, Mississippi Code of 1972, to add the Twenty-first Circuit Court District to the list of districts whose district attorneys may appoint two additional full-time criminal investigators, bringing their total to three.

District attorneys in the First, Second, Fourth, Seventh, Nineteenth, and Twenty-first Circuit Court Districts may now appoint up to three full-time criminal investigators total.

Criminal investigators are compensated at no more than $59,500.00 per annum, determined at the district attorney's discretion based on qualifications and experience, plus necessary travel and other expenses.

District attorneys are prohibited from accepting private employment in any matter investigated by their criminal investigators.

Effective date is July 1, 2019.
