Amends Section 41-29-139 of Mississippi Code to exempt persons holding medical marijuana certification from another state from marijuana possession penalties.

Exemption applies only when the amount of marijuana in the person's possession is consistent with the legal amount authorized in the state that issued the certification.

Persons with out-of-state medical marijuana certification cannot be prosecuted under subsections (c)(2)(A) and (c)(2)(B) regarding marijuana possession penalties.

Exemption does not apply to other controlled substances or synthetic cannabinoids, only to marijuana as defined in Section 41-29-105.

Act takes effect upon passage.
