MS HB40

Authorizes each member of the Mississippi House of Representatives to employ no more than two (2) personal staff employees who serve at the will and pleasure of the individual member.

Requires the Management Committee to authorize a specific amount to be expended by each member during each state fiscal year for compensating the personal staff of that member.

Personal staff employees serve as individual staff to House members and are distinct from committee staff positions staffed by the Management Committee.

Amends House Rule 11A of the 2016-2020 Rules of the House of Representatives and takes effect immediately upon adoption.
