MS HB56

Requires the Mississippi Department of Corrections to provide conjugal visitation for married offenders who are eligible under department rules and committed to the department's custody.

Defines "married offender" as any offender with a valid marriage as prescribed under Mississippi Code Section 93-1-15.

Amends Section 47-5-95 to allow conjugal visitation for any person married to an offender at a correctional facility if the offender meets eligibility requirements.

Effective July 1, 2019.
