Commends Dr. Beverly Wade Hogan for her distinguished career and leadership as President of Tougaloo College from 2002 to 2019, serving as the institution's 13th president and first woman to lead the college.

Recognizes her establishment of new undergraduate degree programs in mass communications, hotel and hospitality management, and religious studies, plus two graduate programs and specialized centers including the Center for Undergraduate Research and Institute for the Study of Modern Day Slavery.

Acknowledges her extensive background as a mental health professional, government official, and educator with over 25 years of executive management experience addressing economic and social justice, civil democracy, and racial and gender equity.

Notes her service on multiple boards including President Obama's Board of Advisors for HBCUs, the Council of Independent Colleges, National Association for Independent Colleges and Universities, and the UNCF Corporate Board of Directors.

Extends the legislature's sincere wishes for continued success and joy in her retirement, with copies of the resolution to be furnished to Dr. Hogan and the Capitol Press Corps.
