Commends Senator Thomas Arlin "Tommy" Gollott upon his retirement from the Mississippi Senate after 52 years of continuous legislative service (12 years in the House and 40 years in the Senate).

Recognizes Gollott surpassed former Speaker Walter Sillers Jr.'s previous record of 50 consecutive years of service on September 25, 2017.

Credits Gollott with championing coastal development legislation including the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, establishing the Department of Marine Resources in 1994, and authorizing dockside gaming in the early 1990s.

Notes his service as President Pro Tempore of the Mississippi Senate from 1996 to 2000 and his leadership on committees including Appropriations, Ports and Marine Resources, and PEER.

Extends best wishes to Gollott and his family (wife Zelma Jackson Gollott and daughters Tanya, Lisa, and Jennifer) as he enters retirement.
