Recognizes and commends Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., for hosting its 2019 Southern Regional Conference in Jackson, Mississippi from March 21-24, 2019.

Acknowledges the fraternity's founding on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University as the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity for African Americans by the "Seven Jewels."

Notes the fraternity's current president, Everett B. Ward, Ph.D., as the 35th general president and highlights the Southern Regional Vice President, Kelsey L. Rushing, Esq., as a Jackson resident.

Recognizes the conference theme "Committed Brothers, Changing Lives, One Community at a Time" and the fraternity's mission of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and uplifting humanity.

Acknowledges notable Alpha Phi Alpha members including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., W.E.B. Du Bois, Justice Thurgood Marshall, and Jesse Owens for their contributions to society.
