Founded WKXI's "Straight Talk" radio program in 1975, one of the longest-running programs in Jackson, which he used to raise funds for those in need and provide Christmas food baskets to senior citizens

Worked as a sports official for over 40 years with the Mississippi High School Activities Association and officiated collegiate football for over 30 years with the Southwestern Athletic Conference

Received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Jackson Police Department on July 11, 2017, for his community work
