Commends Senator Thomas Arlin "Tommy" Gollott upon his retirement from the Mississippi Senate at the conclusion of the 2019 Regular Session after 52 years of uninterrupted legislative service in both the House and Senate.

Recognizes Gollott's record as surpassing former Speaker Walter Sillers, Jr.'s previous longest tenure of 50 consecutive years, with Gollott surpassing this record on September 25, 2017.

Highlights Gollott's legislative achievements including instrumental roles in building the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, authorizing dockside gaming in the early 1990s, and establishing the Department of Marine Resources as a separate agency in 1994.

Notes his service as former President Pro Tempore of the Mississippi Senate from 1996 to 2000 and his leadership on multiple committees including Appropriations, Economic Development, Ports and Marine Resources, and the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance, Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER).

Acknowledges Gollott's extensive community involvement through service with numerous organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, Boys and Girls Club, and various charitable boards focused on mental health and services for disabled citizens.
