Commends Simpson Academy boys basketball head coach James Crain for his outstanding coaching career and achievement of 1,000 victories.

Crain compiled 586 wins during 23 years as head coach at Mendenhall High School (1977-2000), winning two state championships.

Accumulated 167 wins over six years at Hillcrest Christian School, winning three consecutive state championships and reaching his 700th career victory in 2008.

Achieved 248 additional wins during nine years at Simpson Academy, capturing three state championships and reaching his 1,000th victory in 2019 when the Cougars won the MAIS Class AAA Division II State Basketball Championship.

Crain's 42-year coaching record totals 1,001 wins and 326 losses, and he was inducted into the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame in 2018.
