East Webster High School Marching Wolverines won the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 2A State Championship on October 27, 2018, capturing their first state title in Pearl, Mississippi.

The band performed a Viking-themed halftime show titled "The Last Voyage" featuring soloists Samantha Turman and Joshua Yates, and won first place in color guard, percussion, general effect, and visual performance, with second place in music performance.

The Marching Wolverines also earned first-place trophies at the Northeast Regional Marching Band Championship and Tomahawk Marching Championships, plus all-superior ratings in drum major, color guard, and percussion at the regional evaluation at Tupelo High School.

Director Jesse Yates is commended for instructing and inspiring the band while broadening their musical knowledge and refining their marching techniques.

The House of Representatives recognizes and honors the East Webster High School Marching Wolverines and Director Jesse Yates for bringing honor to their school, community, and the State of Mississippi.
