Recognizes and commends the life and legacy of Dr. Ethel Minett Lassiter, who passed away on January 14, 2019, and expresses sympathy to her family and friends.

Dr. Lassiter earned a bachelor's degree from Alcorn State University (1969), a master's degree from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi (1989).

Served in various educational positions including instructor at Edison Community College, assistant professor at Jackson State University, professor at Hinds Community College, and principal of Dana Road Elementary School until her retirement in 2013.

Was a fellow at the Harvard Principal's Institute in 2003 and 2013, honored as teacher of the year and administrator of the year, and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce, and Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.

Directs the House to express deepest sympathy to her surviving family members and provide copies of the resolution to her family and the Capitol Press Corps.
