Recognizes and commends the Alcorn State University "Braves" football team for winning its 16th conference championship and its third SWAC title in five years during the 2018 season.

Notes the team was the first-ever institution to host a SWAC Championship game and the first school to play in five consecutive SWAC title games, with 12 All-Conference honorees including 10 First-Team selections.

Highlights the team had six HBCU All-Americans, finished No. 2 in the HBCU Poll, received 127 votes in the FCS Top-25, and won 10 SWAC Player of the Week awards.

Commends Head Coach Fred McNair for coaching excellence and his ability to produce high caliber players while building upon the program's legacy of superior play and sportsmanship.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Head Coach Fred McNair and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
