Allows persons actively enrolled in an approved teacher education program before July 1, 2014 to be exempt from the standard entrance requirements (21 ACT score or Praxis Core exam and 2.75 GPA) for obtaining a Standard License - Approved Program Route.

Allows persons accepted to and actively enrolled in the Teach Mississippi Institute (TMI) Program for teacher preparation before July 1, 2014 to be exempt from the standard entrance requirements for obtaining a Standard License - Nontraditional Teaching Route.

Exemptions apply only to individuals who were enrolled in these programs prior to the July 1, 2014 deadline, allowing them to complete teacher certification under prior qualification standards.

The bill amends Section 37-3-2 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 regarding teacher certification qualifications and licensing routes.
