MS SB2112

Amends Section 37-28-7 of Mississippi Code to allow the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board to approve public charter schools for special needs students without local school board approval.

Defines special needs students as including, but not limited to, students with dyslexia or students with disabilities.

Maintains requirement that charter schools in "A," "B," or "C" rated school districts must have majority local school board approval, except for special needs schools which are exempt from this requirement.

Effective July 1, 2019.
