Increases the minimum annual salary for assistant teachers in Mississippi from $12,500 to $16,500 for the 2019-2020 school year and thereafter.

Applies to assistant teachers working in kindergarten through third-grade classes under the Mississippi Elementary Schools Assistant Teacher Program.

Requires assistant teacher salaries never to be reduced below the previous year's amount, and school districts cannot reduce local contributions below prior year levels.

Effective July 1, 2019.
