MS SB2235

Amends Section 11-1-1 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to expand the list of officers authorized to administer oaths and certify affidavits.

Adds chief of police and sheriff to the existing list of authorized oath administrators, which previously included judges, clerks, notaries public, mayors, and other specified officials.

Authorizes these officers to administer oaths in court proceedings, legal matters, depositions, and testimony perpetuation as provided under Mississippi law.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
