Amends Section 9-23-5 to exclude burglary of a dwelling under Section 97-17-23(1) from the definition of "crime of violence" for drug court purposes.

Modifies Section 9-23-15 eligibility criteria to allow participants with prior burglary of a dwelling convictions to participate in drug court, while maintaining other restrictions on violent felonies.

Maintains existing prohibitions on drug court participation for those charged with burglary of a dwelling under Section 97-17-23(2) or 97-17-37 (current offense).

Preserves all other drug court eligibility requirements, including prohibitions on trafficking in controlled substances and DUI-related deaths.

Takes effect upon passage.
