Amends Section 41-29-179 of the Mississippi Code to authorize the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics to dispose of unclaimed nonforfeited property using the same procedures as surplus property.

Property ordered released to a claimant must be retrieved within 30 days; if not retrieved within this period, the bureau may sell the property as surplus property.

After deducting sale expenses, remaining proceeds from the sale of abandoned property shall be forwarded to the State Treasurer as unclaimed property.

Effective July 1, 2019.
