MS SB2700

Amends Mississippi Code Section 63-1-203 to exclude military and commercial equipment owned or operated by the Mississippi Military Department from the definition of "commercial motor vehicle" under the Commercial Driver's License Act.

Extends the existing exemption for equipment operated by the United States Department of Defense and National Guard to now explicitly include the Mississippi Military Department and its employees.

Employees of the Mississippi Military Department are added to the list of personnel authorized to operate military equipment without a commercial driver's license, alongside active duty military, reserves, National Guard members, and Coast Guard personnel.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
