Increases the annual salary for sheriffs in counties with a population exceeding 100,000 from $99,000 to $110,000.

Maintains existing salary tiers for sheriffs in smaller counties, ranging from $75,000 to $90,000 based on population categories.

Preserves existing provisions allowing county boards of supervisors to pay optional annual supplements up to $10,000 for specific counties (Leflore, Rankin, Tunica, Wilkinson, Marshall, and Greene) and up to $15,000 for Hinds County.

Requires all sheriffs to complete 20 hours of continuing education in law enforcement annually, with courses approved by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training.

Takes effect October 1, 2019.
