MS SB2844

Amends Section 25-15-103 of Mississippi Code to authorize local governing authorities to pay all or part of the costs of additional insurance coverage for dependents of their employees.

Removes the requirement that employees pay the entire cost of dependent coverage by allowing governing authorities to pay the total or any part of such costs.

Allows the amendment to apply retroactively to any existing group coverage plans previously adopted by the governing authority.

Takes effect July 1, 2019.
