Allows persons receiving a Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) retirement allowance who are elected to the Legislature after retirement to continue receiving that allowance while serving in the Legislature in addition to regular legislative compensation.

Allows current Legislature members eligible to receive a PERS retirement allowance to begin receiving it while serving in the Legislature without requiring them to withdraw from office.

Persons receiving a retirement allowance while serving as a Legislature member shall not be active PERS members and shall not accrue additional creditable service during their legislative service.

Persons who choose to receive a retirement allowance while serving as a Legislature member must pay the full employee contribution amount on their legislative compensation to PERS, with no additional creditable service earned from these contributions.

Effective July 1, 2019; exempts eligible Legislature members from the 90-day waiting period and other employment restrictions that normally apply to PERS retirees.
