Jackson Preparatory School football team won their seventh consecutive MAIS Class AAAA State Championship on November 16, 2018, defeating Madison-Ridgeland Academy 33-27 at Mississippi College.

Senior running back Jerrion Ealy scored the game-winning play by leaping over the line of scrimmage for a fourth-down conversion with 17 seconds remaining in the game.

Jackson Prep has won 24 varsity football championships since 1971, with titles in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

The resolution commends Head Coach Ricky Black, the team, coaches, parents, and sponsors for establishing a dynasty in MAIS football and bringing honor to their school and community.
