Extends condolences of the Mississippi Legislature to the family of Laurel Police Department Chief of Police Tyrone Stewart, who passed away on January 28, 2019.

Recognizes Chief Stewart's 25-year law enforcement career with the Laurel Police Department beginning June 15, 1994, including seven years as Deputy Chief of Operations and service as Chief of Police from May 28, 2011.

Commends Chief Stewart's investigative accomplishments, including solving Mississippi's first Federal Death Penalty case and the "Cookie Dean" homicide case, earning recognition from the FBI, ATF, and Federal Judge William Barbour.

Notes Chief Stewart's educational background including graduation from Northeast Jones High School in 1989 and Alabama State University with a major in Criminal Justice, and his selection as "Policeman of the Year" in 1996.

Directs presentation of the resolution to Chief Stewart's surviving family, the Laurel City Council, and the Capitol Press Corps.
