Commends and congratulates Sunjay Chawla of Greenwood as the first Mississippi high school student to win the Wendy's National High School Heisman Award in the award's 25th year, selected from an applicant pool of 42,000 top scholar-athletes.

Recognizes Chawla's athletic accomplishments including four consecutive State Tennis Championship titles in Singles, a game-winning goal in the 2017 State Championship Soccer Game, and third place finish at the State Golf Championships.

Highlights Chawla's academic excellence with a 4.9 grade point average, first in his class at Pillow Academy, a 34 on the ACT, and recognition in the top 1% of all students in America for the Class of 2019.

Commends Chawla's community service including creating the Chawla ACT Institute for underprivileged youth test preparation and building a community tennis wall with over 100 hours of free youth tennis lessons through the Love Tennis Club for Beginners.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Chawla and his family, forwarded to school officials, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
